Thresholds of Promise: Surveying the Landscape

Scripture: Joshua 1:1-9

Threshold moments invite us to pause and take stock of where we are. We stop, linger,

and listen surveying the landscape of our lives. Thresholds are invitations to prayer and

discernment. Joshua was called to cross the threshold of leadership. He would be the

one to lead the Israelites into the promised land. As he surveys the landscape with fear

and trepidation Joshua hears God’s promise, “I will be with you…I will never leave

you…Be strong and courageous.” Can you hear that same promise spoken to you? 

Can we entrust ourselves to this promise at Broadway as we anticipate what’s to come?
